Barry Malone started his work career back in Ireland in 1971 as an apprentice cabinet maker/joiner. After three years he went in to the drawing office for two years, only to learn he still had to go back on the tools for another two years to finish his apprenticeship (back then it was a five year apprenticeship). Some years later he worked for a company called Waterford Kitchens (perhaps named in the hope that people would associated it with the Waterford Glass).

He then partnered with a company called Seto Kitchens based in Athlone, a town right in the centre of Ireland. After looking after all their work next to Dublin, things were really going good with plenty of work and clients. Approaching 30 years of age, Barry wanted to see more of the world and decided to emigrate to Australia. In 1986 he packed the tools, bags and family and headed down under, working for various kitchen companies. Over the years Barry has seen and solved all sorts of problems in an industry he loves through installing, managing, supervising, designing and check measuring. Meeting and dealing with all sorts of people and making some great friends along the way, although nearing retirement Barry still likes to help out whenever he can as there are very few problems he has not seen and most can be resolved with a bit of common sense.
